“On the Hill”

What an amazing and exhausting last two days spent on and around Capitol Hill in Washington D.C  with 400+ LGBT Veterans from 44 states, including Puerto Rico. We were all lobbying for the Repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”  I’m calling Congress now, make your own call to repeal DADT, call 202-684-2471.

Now, sitting here on Mega bus bound for NYC I am re-energized just thinking about  all the courageous individuals I met in the last two days who want to be apart of  my multimedia piece “Proud to Serve.”  Now the fun part, figuring out how to get me to Washington, Oregon, Indiana, Utah, Florida, Virginia, Puerto Rico, Kentucky, etc you get the picture and hopefully soon, I will too.

As always if you are an LGBT Veteran and are interested in participating in this multimedia piece, please contact me. joannsantangelo.com/veterans.html.

And if you are an organization with an extra $5,000 you need to spend and are interested in sponsoring a cross country road trip, please don’t hesitate to contact me!

I took lots of images over these last two days and will be posting some and a link to a gallery tomorrow.

This morning before the Veterans hit Capitol Hill- Senator Joseph Lieberman posed for a historic photo in front of the Capitol Building and then gave a rousing speech!
