Today in History – May 17, 2004

Seven years ago today, I was a witness to history. On May 17th 2004, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts issued the first same sex marriage licenses in the United States. These images were taken at Boston City Hall.

Inside Boston City Hall: Hillary Goodridge, Julie Goodridge, GLAD Attorney Mary Bonauto and Mayor Thomas Menino, first same-sex marriage license was issued.
